No, Steinway’s are better, they are the only major brand of handmade pianos. Each and every piano they make is different, giving a unique sound. Most brands nowadays are factory made, which means they are all pretty much the same or at least intended to be. Humans only rarely do the something exactly the same, the wood will be different, the strings different, the hammers, the pedals, everything, all handmade, each part never like the other. Yes, a lot of other pianos are nice, I’ve played a few really good Yamaha’s, Kawaii’s, and Baldwins, but there’s something special about Steinway, you can feel they’re handmade, and when you play one after the other, you can feel and hear their uniqueness. I’ll probably never be able to afford one, but if I could ever have a pick, it’d be Steinway.

You know how people will always say “oh this is nice but steinway is amazing?”
That means absolutely NOTHING. Steinway was just one model, that is known for being crafted by a few men (steinway, and his sons) at a very detailed level. While yes, many steinways have great tone and reaction, that…
That’s the thing though, just because its handmade does NOT mean its intrinsically better. Saying something “feels handmade and unique” doesn’t mean much unless you make it mean something. I’ve played so many steinway grands, and yet I have yet to see a single one steinway match the quality that I played on a kawaii grand. The touch was never as gentle, and the tone was honestly in comparison.
And that’s the whole point i’m trying to make. You just can’t lump all steinways into a single bunch because they’re NOT a single bunch in any regard, which is what everyone is apparently trying to do based off of these respones
You’re lumping them together based on your experiences with Steinway fan boys.
the touch was never as gentle,
Remember that each piano is different, you cant critique a brand of piano on this one feature. liking a piano all depends on the pianist, I’m different from others, I like pianos that can be extremely loud, Erik Satie on the other hand, had pianos that literary couldn’t play forte.
I meant that, steinways are better due to the quality of a piano, I’d much rather have a handmade piano then one made by a machine. More care was put into a handmade piano, more labor, just as mastering piano is laborious and precise. obviously each pianist is going to like another piano, but the fact is, a handmade gift from a friend is much more special to you than one store brought, even if it
doesn’t mean much unless you make it mean something.

YES. I’m tired of all of you pretentious assholes saying that I’m not “really reading” because I use a kindle.
Yes, you are reading. You are just reading a “lesser” form of book. Reading isn’t just reading the words on a page/screen, it’s smelling the book, new or old, it’s wearing the books spine out after rereading it for the X’th time, it’s leaving crease marks on a page you flipped too fast because you were that eager to get to the next page, and most of all, it’s losing yourself in a book to the point where the world around you no longer exists. And I, for one, cannot lose myself in an electronic screen. The words of a real book take on a depth that cannot ever be recreated on anything electronic. So you may be reading a book, but you will never truly experience a book unless you read it in a printed medium.
lol this pretentious bullshit. “The words of a real book take on a depth that cannot ever be recreated on anything electronic.” i mean really. anyway, the words of your reblog have no depth or meaning to me since i’m reading them in electronic form, but u tried it
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA PERFECT SERVE, GAME POINT, SET, MATCH. CHECK AND MATE.
Man, there’s fuckin’ bullshit about everything these days. I thought I was losing myself in the words and the content. I thought reading was about the part of the book that wasn’t the physical book. Maybe I just wasn’t experiencing his bullshit quite enough. Wrong medium, must be!
Pffffft words are too mainstream
Picture books man!
Pictures books?! Please.
Nothing is more intense than a good pop out book. Every page you turn, the story just jumps right off the pages.
Now that’s immersion!
lol shitstorms in the fandom again
